My laptop failed the SMART check and the ID is M4MLWF-93L9SB-MFPW21-60E103. What happened to my laptop and what should i do?

Hi:

 

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure, means the hard drive is about to fail or has failed, needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.

 

If you can still get into windows, back up any files you want to save onto a portable hard drive.

 

The support site is currently down but once it is operational again, you can find the service manual on your notebook's support page for the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

 

After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W10 by making a recovery drive using the HP Cloud recovery client utility.
