HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1072ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

Please help me decide which SSD I need to buy. I want to replace the default SSD in my laptop with one with more storage. But I can't figure out which one to choose to be compatible with my device. I found out in the specifications that a PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD is currently installed. But it is not specified, PCIe 3 or PCIe 4. Because of this, it is difficult to choose, please help me figure it out.

It is also not clear what size is suitable - 2280, 2260...

My laptop is HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1072ur

Hi:

Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.

This info is available on AMD's website by looking up the specs on your notebook's processor.

AMD Ryzen™ 5 4600H | AMD

While a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD will work, you will not get anywhere near the advertised read/write speeds it has.

The form factor is M.2 2280.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the SSD removal and replacement procedure:
