Any suggestions for a replacement SSD drive? Same storage size.
The current drive is the 512 GB Intel PCle NVMe M.2 SSD for my my HP Spectre x360 15 convertible.
Are any of these doable? I found them on Amazon.
- Silicon Power 512GB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 SSD (SP512GBP34A60M28)
- Crucial P3 500GB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s - CT500P3SSD8
- Crucial P310 500GB 2280 PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD – Up to 6,600MB/s – Shift up to Gen4, with Acronis Offer, Internal Solid State Drive (PC) – CT500P310SSD801
Thanks!

You definitely want the first one with the faster read/write speeds for only $3 more.
The faster the Gen 4 drive is, the closer it will run near the 4000 MBPS speed from the Gen 3.0 slot.

Hi:
The PCIe slot in notebooks with Intel 10th gen core processors is 3.0.
Given that info, I'd go with the Crucial P3.
Reinstalling Windows on the new SSD:
Your PC is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which will factory reset the drive to its 'out of the box' condition.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.
HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
Since you have to use the software on another PC as yours is not working, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
Your PC's product number is 7UT64UA#ABA
Make the recovery media as soon as possible because HP will be removing support for the cloud recovery tool since your notebook is over 5 years old.
It still shows it a supported.

Hey Paul- Just wanted to report back. The new Crucial SSD is installed and I am back in business!
I ended up getting the cheapy Crucial P3 500GB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s - CT500P3SSD8.
Now, I already want to upgrade a little bit to the Crucial P310 1TB 2280 PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD – Up to 7,100 MB/s – Shift up to Gen4, with Acronis Offer, Internal Solid State Drive (PC) – CT1000P310SSD80. It's on sale at A****n.
I also bought an SSD enclosure to try and get some stuff from the original SSD that was damaged. No luck - "ACCESS DENIED".
I will use the enclosure for the recently purchased 500GB SSD then use it as a back-up after I purchase the news slightly upgraded 1TB faster SSD.
Thanks again for all of your help. Much appreciated!
David.

Ahhhhhhh, I see. The max speed of the 500gb I just purchased max is 3500 MBPS. So, I'm almost maxed out.
So basically, its price and storage capacity that are the primary factors for me since max Gen 3 slot is 4000mbs.
I'll probably just grab the 1TB GEN 4 I listed earlier. Although not much, 500MBPS is still 500MBPS faster . LOL
Thanks again!
