Hello HP team,

I want to upgrade my hp laptop by replacing SSD with HDD. But I'm confused and have some queries, which type of SSD will support in my HP notebook.

It would be great if you provide me precise details like which SSD Type, Size, etc combinations will be good for my laptop.

Thank you In advance.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

This model is a bit difficult to provide advice about. Here is what the Manual shows around the hard drive:

M.2 slot in red circleM.2 slot in red circle

So there is a slot for a SATA 2280 form factor M.2 aka "gumstick" SSD. The problem is, on many models this slot is not actually there. So if you want to use a SATA M.2 SSD please open the laptop first to check for the slot. If it's there you can only use SATA M.2 SSD. On the other hand it's 100% you can replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. SATA M.2 and 2.5 inch SATA SSD perform the same so no advantage there, either way.

Thank you for guide me properly. Early, I was thinking that SATA M.2 is faster than SATA SSD.

Now, there is no such question in my mind.
