Yes a SATA SSD even on a SATA-II interface is a major major upgrade from a mechanical hard drive.

Hi:

In your country, this would be the best SSD for the price.  A real bargain.

The fastest SSD I know of is this one, but the performance difference between the Crucial one and this one isn't that much.

This disk is much cheaper in the USA and carries a 5 year warranty, where in India it appears the warranty is less.

But will it be worth to use  sata-3 ssd on sata-II connector type motheboard.

Because ssd will run based on sata-2 not sata-3.

Have you confirmed that the SATA port is SATA 2?

Notebooks with the Mobile Intel series 7 chipsets support SATA 3 controllers.

I checked my laptop with HWinFO software it is showing Serial ATA 3Gb/s  @3Gb/s.

That's unfortunate that HP didn't hook up the port to the SATA 3 controller.
