13-4193nr

Hello. I have a Spectre x360 model 13-4193nr.  It has a 256k SSD drive and I can't seem to make space on it (I could, but I have deleted all I want to delete). I'm going to upgrade it to 1 or 2TB (I assume it can handle 2TB).

The question I have is that I'm showing that it has an SanDisk SD7SN65-256G-1006 SSD.  I believe that is a SATA M.2 NGFF SSD which looks like the connector has two notches.  I'm not sure that is accurate as when I use the crucial web site to find a compatible SSD for this laptop, it shows an SSD with one notch!

When I look online to purchase a new SSD, most show one notch.  I liked the Samsung EVO 1 and 2TB SSD's, but looks like they are only 1 notch.  Can someone explain what I need to get for a replacement? Is there a different name designation?

Of course, I can just open it up and then order the right one, but It belongs to my wife and anything of downtown above a few hours would mean sleeping on the couch for a while.

Thanks in Advance.

Yes the 13-41xx series is getting a bit long in the tooth so it was an early adapter of the M.2 storage. It can only work with SATA M.2 SSD. That generally means 2 notches. But not 100%. A few SATA M.2 SSDs have one notch. Either one notch or 2 will fit in the M.2 slot. Only SATA (as opposed to NVME) will work on your model, however. You may find the Service Manual useful:

This is a good choice and will work.

Capacities including 1 TB and 2 TB are offered on the link above and either will work fine for you. Let us know if you need help migrating/cloning software, etc. Good luck and post back with any more questions.

Thanks.  For others - I did locate a 2-notch ssd and was fairly easy to clone.  Up and running and no more space complaints1  I chose to only clone operating system and not data.  Some flakey stuff was going on, like with one drive, so a clean install was best.  appreciate the help.
