HP evny 15 203TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So i wanna upgrade my HP ENVY 15 - 203TX with SSD. My laptop has M.2 ssd slot. Please help me out with choose suitable ssd for my laptop. I see M.2 SSD SATA and M.2 NVMe ssd drive. Most of them says NVMe is gives best speed though SATA version just like all other optical drives. please help me out. i have mention links below.

samsung ssd SATA (https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-850-EVO-M-2-MZ-N5E250BW/dp/B00TGIVZTW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=149810625...) is 8,499rs

and

Western digital m.2 ssd (https://www.amazon.in/WD-Green-240GB-Internal-WDS240G1G0B/dp/B01M9B2VB7/ref=sr_1_8?s=computers&ie=UT...) is priced as 5,100rs only

should i choose Western digital since it is same config as samsung and prices way too lower than samsung.

or

should i choose this ( https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-970-Evo-Internal-MZ-V7E250BW/dp/B07BN5FJZQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=U... ) NVMe Version which is priced  10,600rs  to get high speed.

Your welcome, Your PC supports M2 SATA3 SSD and not PCIe SSD. So the best choice performance/prize would be the Samsung 850 evo or the Samsung 860 evo. It will have higher performance than the WD SSD.

You can see on page 2 of service manual

On page 67 you can see the steps to install the drive.

Hi,

The model number you have given is not complete as there are different models from different series that end in 203tx.

Example:

15-r203tx

G32-203tx

15-k203tx

So, for further help please provide exact model or product number (not serial) of your PC. Here is link to HP support page showing how to find it:

Super 🙂 Thank you !!!  Can you help me with another thing. so i wanna upgrade RAM too... I have 8gb Hynix ram installed right now. Should i add same brand and model of RAM to get performance or any supporting RAM would be fine??

HP Recommended

Your welcome.

Any supported RAM will be fine. Personally I usually use Crucial RAM as it is easily available and good prize if you buy from big online stores

Make sure to buy DDR3L-1600Mhz RAM (not DDR3 which has higher voltage)

All the best,

David
