Hi Team,
I have HP AU-111 tx notebook and have below queries :-
1) Can I upgrade it with 1Tb (2280) M.2 SATA - 3 SSD. ( I had a discussion with HP technical support team and they said maximum you can go upto 256 GB)
2) Can I upgrade it with 8 GB DDR4 , 2133 Mhz RAM? making a total of 16GB with combined both slots.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
First, you should check if the M2 slot is present on the motherboard, as sometimes notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD are missing the physical slot on the motherboard. On page 29 of the service manual you can see the steps to remove the bottom cover to take a look:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05228250
So, if the slot is there you can insert an M2 SATA3 SSD such as the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar of your desired capacity (there is no limit to capacity, the ones mentioned in service manual are the ones certain models in that series could have been bought with)
Max RAM for your notebook is 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB
The RAM will run at 2133MHz. There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module and one empty slot. So, yes you can insert another 8GB module in the empty slot.
Example:

Hope it helps,
David

Hi.
Crucial which guarantees its upgrades seems to think there is a slot.

However, if you look in this thread:
the Member has the same exact model as you and the M2 slot is not present (if you look at the picture)
So, I believe your only option is to replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD such as the 2.5" Samsung 860 Evo or similar of your desired capacity
Example:
It will have the same speed as the M2 SSD and will give a great boost to the performance of the PC.
Hope it helps,
David
