The supported drive types can be found in chapter 1.
Your notebook's M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's.
M2. 2280.
Here is the Crucial memory report for a similar notebook to yours.

Yours would use the same M.2 SSD's that this model uses...

This is a peer to peer forum.
I do not work for or represent HP, and therefore cannot speak on behalf of HP regarding warranty terms.
However, since the procedure to install a solid state drive is listed under the Removal and replacement procedures forCustomer Self-Repair parts section of the service manual, I would have to assume that you would not void the warranty unless you break something in the process.
