Hi, I'm trying to replace my old HDD for a new SSD (Kingston a400) but it seems that the BIOS won't recognize it as a boot drive.
I tried to install win 7 from 0, but got a message that says "It Is posible that the hardware in this equipment could not boot with this drive. Make sure that the controller Is activated in the BIOS menú".
The BIOS for this Notebook Is very basic. It won't even show the disks installed.
Do you know if there Is a way to replace the hd for a SSD? Thanks!!!

If you've replaced the same with an SSD using a caddy for 3.5mm jack, it may work, although, since there is limited information available on this discontinued/obsolete device,
it's best you check with a local tech before investing on it to be on a safer side.

Thanks for your kind attention, but, in the end, I still can´t have a solution. There are no drivers or bios to download, (I mean, not even the old ones, for WIn7 i.E.), nothing to work with.
I´ll have to keep my fingers crossed because, Basically, HP decided that in the event of having a software or driver issue, my notebook is junk, even if the hardware still works.
The enviroment and me, as a costumer, are not grateful for that.
Will never bought HP again.
