I see you have posted previously in another thread here in the Community. Welcome back !
- HDD 5400 rpm and the SSD 2.5 both are 2.5 inch in size and both connect to the motherboard via SATA interface/connection. More about SATA >> https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/s/sata.htm
So, if your PC successfully uses SATA 2.5 HDD, then it will successfully use SSD 2.5 inch in size. This is 100%.
If you have SATA SSD 2.5 in the PC and Windows cannot detect it or cannot be installed on it, there is a reason for this. It may be your PC is configured for UEFI boot/Secure Boot on and GPT partition on the device - most likely.
In order to fix it, you may read this article >> https://www.diskpart.com/articles/windows-wont-install-on-ssd-4348i.html
Another TKB one >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Knowledge-Base/Notebook-SSD-upgrade/ta-p/6898561
Check the partitioning section
Hope this helps.
