Microsoft Windows 11

Hi everyone

I have an HP Notebook - 15-Da2002nk that has a HDD. and it's making it terribly slow. So I'm thinking of upgrading it to an SSD or M.2 (budget ones).

since it's my first time upgrading a had drive, I have a couple of questions:

1- Can I keep my HDD for storing files only and install the system on SSD or M.2 SSD (which one is better SSD or M.2 SSD?

2- Does my laptop model (HP Notebook - 15-Da2002nk) support M.2 SSD? (if yes, any recommendations?)

3- Is there any tutorials on the internet that I can follow?

thank you so much in advance 🙂

1- Can I keep my HDD for storing files only and install the system on SSD or M.2 SSD (which one is better SSD or M.2 SSD?

Yes.  M.2 SSD is better.

2- Does my laptop model (HP Notebook - 15-Da2002nk) support M.2 SSD? (if yes, any recommendations?)

Your laptop has support for PCIe NVMe M.2  and 2.5" 7mm SSD products SSD products.

The M.2 PCIE NVME GEN 3 or 4 types are the fastest storage devices currently available.

I recommend the Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVME Gaming M.2 SSD

Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 1TB Gen 4 PCIe NVME M.2 SSD

3- Is there any tutorials on the internet that I can follow?

Sure. On YouTube"

I will see if I can locate a video for you showing how it is done.

I highly recommend using a plastic spudging tool for separating the bottom cover , not a metal one like the  person in the video uses.

One last question:

Do I have to change the BIOS settings, the new SSD will be automatically detected?

HP Recommended

No changes in the BIOS are needed.

Hi again

One last last thing haha 🙂

Since I'm on budget is "Kingston NV2 M.2 NVMe Gen 4 1TB" good/compatible option for my HP 15-da2002nk

? 1TB wouldn't be a waste of storage since I'm keeping my 1TB HDD for file storage?

thanks a lot in advance 😄

Hi

I also found this one WD_BLACK SN770 1TB NVMe SSD. is it also compatible/good?

I found on the internet that the Kingston NV2 M.2 NVMe Gen 4 1TB is quiet bad.

HP Recommended

Any brand with the specification will be compatible.
