Product: HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14m-dw1013dx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Is Samsung 860 Evo SATA M.2 compatible with HP Pavilion x360 14m-dw1013dx? It is not being detected by the PC when mounted directly to board or via USB connection. If it is  incompatible is there a list of compatible SSD's?

Hi:

 

The service manual on your notebook's support page shows that both SATA and NVMe SSD's are supported so unfortunately I don't know why the Samsung SATA M.2 is not working.

You may want to switch to a NVMe SSD instead such as the Samsung 980 (not 980 Pro).

I tried a Samsung 970 Evo Plus Nvme M.2 and it also was not detected.

There must be something wrong with the M.2 slot because a NVMe SSD should have worked too.

Is that possible even though the original SSD which is a M.2 SATA is detected and works fine?
