HP ENVY - 17t-ce100 CTO

hI. dUE TO THE hopeless keyboard I had to fall in a technician who opened the notebook in order to check the connector of the factory keyboard (to be replaced because of its disastrous performance). He saw the battery (swelling), removed it and advised me not to reinstall it because if reinstalled as is it could be hazardous. That means that I am now using the notebook only plugged in to my home electricity.

The issue I have noticed is that, after I switch if off, if within a couple of hours I switch it on, it takes much longer to become ready to use.

I have two questions.

Does anybody see any correlation between the lack of a battery and the slower startup?

Is it normal for a three-year notebook (purchased  brand new directly from HP), to have a swelling battery?

Many thanks in advance for your help. Regards

Thanks, Jogi, for your quick reply. I understand.

What about the slow start up? Did you experience any slower start up when the notebook was operating without the battery?

Cheers

Hey Massini

It is not normal, but it could happen (factory production fail).

I had to replace my battery also after 3 yrs or usage.

So what you have to do is purchasing a new battery. If u not know the spare numbers which is on the battery next to the hp-logo, then u have to search for ur model manual and there r the spare numbers for each possible spare listed.

Sincerely

Jogi

Just un update. The notebook is now working well again. The start-up is no longer slow. I am not aware of having made anything to solve the problem, but maybe an automatic software update caused the computer to work normally again.

Thanks again, Jogi, for your help.
