Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a older omen laptop 15 SanDisk SD6PP4M-256G-1006 Product number: J9K19UA#ABA and wanting to upgrade the SSD which is the SATA, and was trying to find a 1 TB drive, I purchased the Samsung SSD 980 but the drive is too long and will not fit with the screw hole placement. Needing to know which drive i can purchase to get the upgrade completed. Also my current drive does have the OS on it, if a new drive is installed, will the OS install automatically or will it need to be installed from a USB.

Thanks for all the replies and assistance.

Hi:

There isn't an option to move the mounting screw 20 mm further out?

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates your notebook supports both M.2 2260 (which the one you removed is), and M.2 2280 (which is the one that isn't mounting in the 2260 mounting area.

If there isn't a hole to move the screw further out, you will need to purchase a M.2 2260 SSD.

I didn't see the mount screw hole to be changed, it looks to be soldered in on the board, there is an opening to the card on the end, but the card would be going over the screw hole and it would not be detected that way.

Then you will need to exchange the M.2 2280 for a M.2 2260.
