HP 17-by2000 Laptop PC series (7EF33AV)

I purchased the laptop a little bit over a year ago, works great. Last week I opened the laptop and heard cracking. I stopped and noticed that both hinges popped out and cracked the whole bottom of the laptop. I've done some research and it seems that this is a known issue. I had the same thing happened with a Lenovo laptop that was out of warranty. Reached out to their excellent customer service and they took full responsibility and acknowledge the design flaw. They sent me a shipping label to ship my laptop to their repair center and had my laptop back in a week or so. This has not been the same with HP, I tried reaching out to them via chat and keep getting stuck because my laptop is no longer in warranty. Anyone else with the same issue, has had their laptop repaired? This is so absurd. HP needs to acknowledge and take full responsibility of their own design flaws. 20221105_112604.jpg20221105_112620.jpg20221105_112614.jpg

I have this same issue as well with mine being out of warranty. I agree that this is absurd and HP needs to acknowledge and take full responsibility of their own design flaws.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
