PAVILION NOTEBOOK 15 ab032tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I recently had a system conflict (Win 10 October update with Kaspersky Internet Security 2015) and had to clean install the OS.

Evrything was done successfully and all the drivers were properly updated except "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller" which still shows a yellow exclamation mark.

i have even tried to update through HP Support Assistant and duly updated all the updates showing there. However the issue still persists. My laptop config is as below

Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.19 Ghz

RAM: 8.00 GB

SYSTEM: 64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor.

OS: Windows 10 Home Single Language

Version: 1809

Build: 17763.194

I would appreciate any advice on how to reslove the above issue.

Thanks

Hi:

Normally, installing the latest Intel chipset driver and restarting the PC will install that device.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-?pr...

The 2nd file down on the left side of the page is the auto install file.

Restart the PC, after installing the driver.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I assume you were referring to the Setupchipset.exe file. The driver is still not updated.

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Yes, that was the exe file to run.

OK...if that didn't do the trick, then you need to install this driver...

This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp82001-82500/sp82025.exe

And if that doesn't work, we have to circle back to the chipset driver.

This time, download the zip file version from the Intel link I posted.

Unzip the file to its folder.

Go to the device manager, click on the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Selec the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the unzipped chipset driver folder.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

No, none of the above fixes worked 😞

I don't know what to tell you then, because one of those drivers should have worked.

Try this chipset driver...

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp87001-87500/sp87257.exe

If that doesn't work either, please post the hardware ID for the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller device.

Use this guide for how to find that info...

I am sorry, but none of the fixes has worked so far. Although the Laptop is functioning quite normally otherwise, except one sudden restart yesterday. The hardware IDs of the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller device is as mentioned below:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1603&SUBSYS_8096103C&REV_09
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1603&SUBSYS_8096103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1603&CC_118000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1603&CC_1180

Thanks

Hi:

Try this driver...it has driver support for the hardware ID you posted...

When installing the driver got the message "this software is already installed..". Don't know what is happening! Incidentally my laptop battery has died and yet to be replaced. Does this have anything to do with the issue?

Thanks

Unfortunately, I don't know why any of those drivers didn't work because they all contain driver support for the hardware ID you posted.

The dead battery shouldn't be a factor in why the driver won't install.

I suppose you could try removing it and just running the PC off the A/C adapter and try the drivers again, but I would be amazed if that worked.

Sorry that I wasn't able to help you get the device installed.
