Hi, I would like to understand which is the maximum ram that can be installed, even at the expense of the warranty, on this precise PC model. I saw that there are some variants that can support a maximum of 8GB. This is an I7002U. Thanks for the possible answers

Hi,

Upgrading RAM and Storage is accepted practice and will not void warranty.

Your notebook will support max 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB.

There are two slots. The RAM will run at 2133MHz. 8GB or 16GB should be more than enough.

Example of RAM

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-250-g6-%28intel-core-i7-7500u---i...

On page 45 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

Another upgrade you should consider is installing an SSD if not already done so.

Hope it helps,

David

Your machine is an HP 250 G6 machine with core processor. It has 2 slots of RAM and supports 16GB max. You can upgrade to

  • 8GB  : add 4GB to slot 2
  • 12GB : add 8GB to slot 2
  • 16GB : install 8GB each on both slots

Compatible RAM:
