Pavilion DV6000 (RV009UA#ABA)
Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello All,

I am trying to find out if there is a BIOS update available for a Pavilion DV6000 laptop that will allow it to recognize 4GB of RAM.

Also looking for WIFi and Video drivers.

I received the laptop wilh 1GB and have installed 4GB.  No problem, except that only 2816MB are being seen.  Also, I cannot make built-in WiFi work, but add on USB WFi woks fine.   Also, also, Linux Mint Mate video drivers are not stable.

My goal for this ancient machine is to make it a Linux email reader for our grandmother. It seems to run Linux pretty well at the moment, with just the few video issues, which I hope can be sorted by trying different Linux versions.

The machine has a fresh reinstall of Vista 32bit to use for installing the new BIOS.

I understand that this machine is 10+ yrs old and no longer supported on the main HP site, but it seems to run well.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction for a BIOS upgrade or any surviving driver files?

Here are the hardware details:

" HP Pavilion Entertainment PC "

Model - HP Pavilion dv6000 (RV009UA#ABA)

System board ID - 30B7

BIOS version - F .27

CPU AMD Turion 64 X2

Vista Home Premium 32bit
NVIDIA graphics
