HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h1000 IDS Base Model

I just got a HP laptop but the serial number is not recognised by the HP website to check my warranty. The HP Support assistant shows the product number and serial number which I copied into the requested fields on the website, yet it doesn't recognise my serial or product number.

I need to verify my warranty status

I think the main issue is that it keeps saying my warranty status is unknown on the HP Support Assistant. I have a warranty and have to be able to see the warranty on my dashboard. This seems to be a common problem, as I have seen quite a number of people asking the same question; one would think HP would have resolved this recurrent issue by now.
