Thanks in advance for your assistance.
I have an HP Pavilion 15-bc051nr (notebook) that i purchased in 2017. I love and adore it except the battery no longer works -- it must be plugged in for power.
I have a few questions: 1) is it possible to find a replacement battery and, if so, how would i have it installed? I don't see a place to even remove and install a new battery on the back of the computer. In any case, I don't know where to find a replacement battery and then have it installed. 2) is it better to just buy a new notebook and, if so, do you have any suggestions on which HP notebook is most similar to the one I have now (maybe a little smaller and lighter weight)?
I am not a gamer and just use the laptop for internet searches and word, excel, etc.
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!
According to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=W2L89UA, the part number for a replacement battery for your HP Pavilion 15-bc051nr (W2L89UA) is: 849910-850 "Battery (Primary) - 3-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 5.37Ah, 61Wh (TE03XL)".
A purchase example for a quality TE03XL battery would be: https://www.amazon.com/Emaks-TE03XL-battery-TE03061XL-15-ax000/dp/B07DPN1FXN/ref=sr_1_3_mod_primary_....
The replacement procedure can be a bit 'involved'. I couldn't locate an HP battery replacement procedure on YouTube specifically for your HP Pavilion 15-bcxxx, but this one is probably applicable for your laptop too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKf0iSUk_R8&t=329s.
If you are not comfortable to remove your laptop's back panel, ask a trusted associate/acquaintance who would be comfortable to do it for you.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
