I have an HP Pavillion computer that is plugged in 24 hours a day. When I turn it on the battery level shows a charge of 58% and says the laptop is plugged in. Shouldn't it show 100%?

Thanks

Darryl

Hi @darrylweiss

if the battery is in good condition it should read 100%, but if the battery is damaged or needs calibration it may indicate any % of charge,

Make a test, when turning on the device, press the F2 key several times, then select the battery and see the test result if it passes.

It passed the test. Could it have over-charged. I got it as a present last December

It passed the test. Could the battery be dying?  It's less than a year old.
