Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After following the sage advice of one of the users here, I updated my BIOS. Of course, that did not fix my initial problem, to which there is apparently no solution (thanks HP for a user friendly laptop).

Now, however, my touchpad does not work properly - I have to tap my touchpad 5 times to achieve the single click results! Very irritating I must say.

A purchase I am regretting terribly, but hopefully someone can help me with this.

Just checked your other thread...

Considering the current deterioration of the conversation on the subject, it might behoove the rest of us steer clear.

I do sympathize - don't get me wrong.

Jumping into an already volatile conversation is not something anyone wants to do.

After all, not liking our advice is one thing - attacking the source - a volunteer workforce of people just trying to help - is noticed.  This is not best for anyone involved.

What else?

I do NOT recommend that you abuse anyone at HP Support - these people are hard enough pressed.

That said, if your computer is under warranty,

If you are not getting the answers you feel you deserve,

If you believe the hardware is the cause of the problem(s) you are having,

You should report the issue to HP Support.

There is always the chance that Support has something to offer from their database that we have not seen.

What else?

Really not sure.

The obvious solutions should work - for example, for the original issue:  switching on / off the requirement for the FN key to invoke actions keys.

It is possible - and no, I've not yet read your user guide - that there is something else going on.

The best that can usually be done for the TouchPad is to reload the driver and check the sensitivity levels.  Additionally, in Settings > Devices > Touchpad you can Reset the touchpad back to defaults and then start over to adjust / check the settings.

I would guess that you have done this as it does fall into the "check this first" category.
