@littlehollyx, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Update Software:
- Ensure that your operating system, drivers, and any software applications are up to date. This can often fix known issues and improve performance.
Check for Malware:
- Use a trusted antivirus program to scan for malware or viruses. Malware can often cause performance issues, including crashes.
Check Storage Space:
- Make sure your hard drive or SSD has enough free space. Low disk space can lead to slow performance and other issues.
- Consider running a disk cleanup to remove unnecessary temporary files and large unused files.
Monitor System Resources:
- Use the Task Manager (Windows) to see the processes consuming memory and CPU resources.
- Identify any apps that are unnecessarily using a lot of resources and close them.
Perform System Maintenance:
- Regularly perform maintenance tasks such as disk defragmentation (if you are using a traditional HDD, not an SSD) and registry cleaning.
Reduce Startup Programs:
- Disable unnecessary startup programs that could be slowing down boot times and affecting overall performance.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- Ensure that your laptop's cooling system (fans, vents) is clean and functional, as overheating can cause crashes.
- Perform hardware diagnostics using HP’s built-in tools to check for issues with RAM, storage, or other components.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
