My laptop today shown smart hard disk error. I tried to continue by pressing Enter. I reached to troubleshoot from their I tried to run it in safe mode,i failed by showing me an error of some log files. I tried to resolve that by command prompt using chkdsk command. After chkdsk command when I tried to access my C drive, it showed an error of fatal device hardware error. Then exit and tried run a quick test of my hard drive. It has gave me a 24 digit failure in quick test only. 

Hard drive SMART check : Failed

Failure I'd : RGDVXL-8H5A3P-MFPX7G-608C03

Hi

Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure

 

If you have a single chance to access the drive make backups.

 

You should replace the drive IF/WHEN you cannot Repair/Rebuild/Recover/Re-Install on it.
