Hi,

I brought my hp laptop 2 years ago.A few days ago some of the keyboard keys which are  f2 f3 f5 minus backtick and 5,6

stopped working but they would work after hardly pressing them for 1 second or pressing them repeatedly,then suddenly one day they stopped working so i open my laptop and took out the battery and turned it on without it and the keys started working again normally and then i put my battery back in the laptop and everything was normal.After 2 days the same problem happened so i did the same but it didn't work neither with battery or without it and now they are not working at all but on external keyboard they would work.I Thought this is a problem of battery as I am getting a message of fuse blown on Hp Pc Diagnostics.But if it is the battery issue then the  keyboard should work when i took out the battery but it doesn't.

I really hope this issue can be fixed as it is annoying without the keys.

Thanks

@Blankia Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that some keys are not working.

Have you tried with an external keyboard?

Please perform the keyboard test and check.

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose Keyboard and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

Please let us know the result.

@Blankia

I understand your concerns.

I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Or you can contact the local service center for repair.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!!
