I can't use backspace, Shift, Enter, Ctrl, Alt, space, or any other key. They all type a double z, "zz". If it wasn't for the fingerprint scanner, I wouldn't be able to unlock my screen. I tried uninstalling the keyboard drivers, I updated windows, and I checked my language settings and nothing has helped.

Can we have the full model number please? Have you connected an external usb keyboard to see if it works? Odds are the keyboard needs replacement, which used to be a very easy task on laptops but not so much on late model thin and light laptops.

Disappointing but at least the cost would be covered by HP. You need to make a warranty claim and it has to start online by entering serial number and following the prompts. Service is a bit overwhelmed right now so be patient. Its the same everywhere and all computer makers.

I have an HP Spectre x360 14-ea0023dx that I've owned since November. I've seen this problem maybe 3 times since then, including this morning. My Spectre is up to date with the latest BIOS according to the HP Support Assistant. I have system board 87F7 40.43 and BIOS version F.09. The only fix for this is to shutdown (not restart) so it's completely powered off, then turn it back on.
