Apologies for jumping in unannounced.
For Backlit keyboard - space bar
At this writing...On every HP backlit keyboard of which I am aware...
No backlight on the space bar.
This is normal behavior for backlit keyboards.
The behavior is not model specific.
I would guess the assumption is that one can find the space bar even in the dark.
This assumption includes using a common "two handed" method to keep track of key location, with the fingers over the keys and thumbs resting just above the space bar.
