Device isn’t switching on and there is no charging light. Have tried the cable in another laptop and it works fine. The ports seem ok. Tried both. Have tried holding power button for 30 seconds and plugging back in, all sorts of button combinations (power + f6 / windows + B et.) but nothing has worked. Any thoughts?

Hi @Onlyme100,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.
To get a better idea of what’s going on, could you share a bit more information?
1. Which exact HP Spectre x360 model do you have?
2. When you plug in the charger, do you see any LED light activity at all even briefly?
3. Did the issue start suddenly, or were there earlier signs like random shutdowns, overheating, or slow charging?
4. Has the device been dropped, exposed to liquid, or had any repairs recently?
In the meantime, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Try a different wall socket (just to rule out a power source issue).
- Remove all peripherals (USB devices, hubs, adapters).
- Perform a hard reset:
- Disconnect the charger
- Hold the power button down for 30–40 seconds
- Reconnect the charger and try powering on
- Check for warmth around the charging port if it’s warm but not powering on, that can indicate a power circuit issue.
- Inspect the USB-C charging ports for dust or damage.
- Try flipping the USB-C cable or using the charger in the other port if your model has two.
- BIOS Recovery : press and hold the Windows + B keys, press the power button for 2–3 seconds, and release the power button. Continue holding Windows + B until you hear beeps or see the HP BIOS Update screen. If this fails, try the Windows + V key combination or create a BIOS recovery USB drive from the HP support
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
