Spectre x360 15 Battery Bulging

The trackpad click on my laptop has recently stopped working, and when looking in more detail I see that the trackpad itself is being pushed up by what is presumably a swelling battery that is also starting to distort the laptop frame.

Upon searching I've seen several complaints about this on the forums, but each time the conversations are taken to private channels.

Is this something that an owner is expected to repalace themselves?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
