Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae013dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Spectre x360 convertible was working just fine and suddenly started shutting off randomly while I was working. At first it was at different amounts of time but it progressed to where it simply shuts off in the middle of booting up or when I am in the bios menu. I took it to a local HP repair place who thought it was a problem with overheating (as the bottom was hotter than usual) and tried to replace the fans, etc.  Didn't work and they relayed that the problem was with the motherboard.  I have seen the numerous posts on here concerning the burning of the motherboards in these machines and it not only is a huge pain in the butt but it is also a massive safety concern as the motherboard burning could cause fires, etc. that could have been catastrophic.  With all of the reports of motherboard problems with these laptops I cannot understand why a recall has not been issued as this seems like a massive safety hazard, let alone a serious PR issue for HP.

I'd like my very expensive laptop fixed as this is not normal wear on a laptop that has been immaculately cared for.  Please contact me and tell me that HP is going to fix this hazardous issue with my spectre x360 convertible.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
