Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Could someone advise me as to the EXACT differences between Spectre x360 models 13t-4000 and 13t-4100?

My model 13t-4000 fails to update to Windows 10 1709.  (I just realized that it also failed last spring to update to 1703.  My notebook is still on 1607.)

HP successfully tested models 13t-4100 and 13t-4200 with 1709.  HP did not test 13t-4000.  I wonder if there was some nominally minor difference between the models to cause incompatibilty between 13t-4000 and 1709.  I would like to know this before I go to all the work of a clean install of 1709.  (Actually, the time and effort will come from manually reinstalling the many applications.)

Thanks.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you need information on differences between the two listed models and help with updates,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you checked the Maintenance and Service Guide for these products?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:

HP Spectre x360 Convertible PC (model numbers 13-4000 through 4099 and 13-4100 through 4199), use this link: http://hp.care/2GguWcJ

HP Spectre x360 Convertible PC (model numbers used: 13t-4200 through 4299), use this link: http://hp.care/2GguXxj

You can use the above links to obtain all the information you need to compare the two models.

That said, if you need help resolving windows update/upgrade issues, try this link: http://hp.care/2pxVKdI

And if the issue persists, or you need to resort to a clean installation, HP recommends using the HP Recovery manager for a safe reinstallation of the OEM and here's how you could do it: http://hp.care/2t2d0IY

I hope that helps!

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
