The m model has a documentated ram upgrade or can be ordered w 8gb from hp.com. Un clear as to the g model. It's not documentated in the service manual, and opening the led clam shell although documentated lookes difficult. I seem to be getting by fine with 4 gb. I'm not going to tamper with the laptop while it is still inder warrenty.

As I've mentioned before, the "G" BB device is NOT memory upgradeable.
Did you open it? Is the memory module soldered into the motherboard?

Has anyone ordered and received the 736884-001 Hard Drive kit for the G110? If so, what does the drive cable look like? I did order and receive the revised IO board which has the Hard drive connector as the standard G does not have that option. Unfortunately, I ordered an incorrect hd hw kit based on some erroneous info from the manuals. I'm going to call HP Parts on Monday.

Hey Trekker 4935,
I have the Hard Drive Hardware Kit 736884-001. Let me take some pictures of the parts so you can see what the cable(s) look like and I'll post them here. I have a question, however: Even with the revised I/O board and correct HDD HW Kit, don't you need the specific 5mm Western Digital HDD with the special connector? I did not realize it was yet available.
By the way, HP has a restocking fee and does not pay for return shipping. If you find you would still like the correct kit, I would gladly send you mine as I won't be using it.
I'll send the pics shortly.
