Hi:

Yes, you can remove the existing NVMe SSD and replace it with one having a greater storage capacity.

Maintenance and Service Guide

HP offered NVMe SSD's up to 1 TB in storage capacity, but if you want to install a 2 TB or 4 TB drive, that would be fine too.

Your notebook's SSD slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.

If you don't plan on transferring the drive to a newer PC in the future that has a Gen 4.0 SSD slot, I recommend the Crucial P3 NVMe SSD in a storage capacity that meets your needs and budget.

A gen 4.0 SSD will work, but it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3.0 SSD slot.

If you do plan on transferring the drive to another PC that has a Gen 4.0 slot, look into the Crucial P310 or T500.

Yes, you can. If your PC has multiple slots for an HDD, or if you are not operating of of an SSD you could purchase either and use that as extra storage, or transfer all of your files to another drive and boot off of that one.

If you are not using an SSD, I would recommend buying one for more storage, as they are much faster.
