Spectre XT pro
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

May be unrelated but firstly about a week ago I noticed that my hp spectre xt no longer holds power unless the power cable is plugged in, despite the battery indicating that is has full charge. Now when I turn my laptop on, an extremely strong chemical smell is being emitted, not so much a burning smell but a chemical smell. I've since been actually too frightened to turn it on again as my lungs have since felt strained, my sinuses inflamed and I've had headaches and vague nausea. I sometimes work from home and I'm worried about my young child being exposed to this too. Please could you tell me how to rectify this? I only a few months ago had a service from HP with a new motherboard and screen. So this is concerning. Thanks

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
