HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I am currently looking for a Battery Replacement for my HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC. I have purchased two 3rd party battery replacements from an amazon vendor which ended with both of them being defective and a long refund process.  I had intended to use this laptop for College and had spent the last month searching for one before the fall term began (too late).

I have used the HP Support Assistant to run a Battery Check on my original battery as well as both 3rd party replacements and was met with the message: "The battery is reporting a failure and needs to be replaced as soon as possible".

Here are the specs!

Product Name: HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC

Model: 17-J037CL

Product Number: E4S14UAR#ABA

Any help on finding a functioning battery replacement would be much appreciated.

This part has been discontinued! That is the reason that I have made this post and sought out 3rd party alternative batteries. I am now on my 3RD third party battery in less than 3 weeks. ALL batteries that I have ordered have been giving me the same warning to replace this battery.

I got this laptop 6 years ago and if I had known that a $1200+ laptop would only last me less than 6 years, I genuinely would've shopped for ANY other brand this is actually ridiculous, especially with my College being ONLINE ONLY...

I am really hoping there is something out there that can solve this problem because at this point, its -try to fix an HP laptop that seems almost meant to self-destruct due to everything relating to it being discontinued. OR -Shop for any other NON-HP brand laptop.

Rather than use the laptop that I have spent a couple months "repairing", I have had to use the Public Library Computers for any mode of studying. The "repairs" mentioned would be the multitude of updates provided by HP which Triggered a Corruption of my BIOS which was definitely a fun process learning to fix. On top of trying to figure out whether my Laptop is defective (not reading battery properly) or my battery is defective , or if it is my adapter used to power my laptop and battery. I have run the UEFI Diagnostics test to tell which appears to be the source of my problems. Battery naturally is given an unknown error which was previously stated, the AC Adapter is said to be functioning normally, and there have been no viruses detected on my laptop and I have Factory Reset it and restored the BIOS with an updated version on a flashdrive. If HP can provide ANY type of support on what can be done that would be great... If not I'm afraid I won't be able to stay a customer of HP for any longer.

@Zion_B10 It looks like you've done everything that could possibly resolve the issue, and since the issue persists, after all of that, I suggest you get the DC connector on the motherboard checked as it may not be working properly, considering you've got replacement batteries and yet it doesn't work either!

If you have an HP authorized service center near by, you should be able to take it to them and have it checked,

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
