Hi @mosty,

I understand your granddaughter wants to know which stylus pen is compatible with her HP x360 Laptop 14-ek1140tu. Let’s go through a few steps to identify the correct stylus and ensure it works properly.

Check Pen Technology
The HP x360 14-ek1140tu supports Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) 2.0.
Ensure you purchase an HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen or another MPP 2.0-compatible pen. Pens designed for Wacom or USI standards will not work.

Verify Pen Compatibility Before Purchase
Look for “MPP 2.0” or “Microsoft Pen Protocol” in the pen’s specifications.
Avoid generic stylus pens that do not mention MPP or say “capacitive only,” as they won’t offer pressure sensitivity or full functionality.

Charge or Insert Battery in the Pen
If the pen is rechargeable, fully charge it before first use.
If it uses a battery (like AAAA), ensure it is inserted correctly and has enough charge.

Enable Touchscreen & Windows Ink Features
Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink and ensure the pen input is enabled.
Make sure Windows and drivers are fully updated for the laptop to recognize the pen properly.

Pair the Pen (if required)
If your pen supports Bluetooth features (like shortcut buttons), press and hold the pairing button on the pen until the LED blinks.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices on the laptop and select the pen to pair it.

Test the Pen on the Screen
Open apps like Sticky Notes, Whiteboard, or Paint to test writing and drawing.
Ensure the pen tip responds smoothly without lag or skips.

Calibrate the Pen (if needed)
If you notice misalignment between the pen tip and the cursor, search for “Calibrate the screen for pen input” in Windows settings and follow the calibration process.

I hope this helps.
