HP MPP 1.51 Pen

If you can't find instructions, what are you supposed to do ? Stylus pen (MPP 1.51) arrived and I put it together. So now what ? Is the top button (like a regular pen) supposed to do anything ? It does not . If that is normal, then in what order do I press the side buttons ? And then what does the pen do ? I sound stupid but all of the grandkids are at work and can't help me. 😂 Anybody got any ideas ?

Welcome to the HP Community --

One of the most important things is whether the pen is compatible with your computer's touchscreen!

We can check for compatibility if you tell us your computer's model name --

Find Your HP Laptop Name, Product Number, or Serial Number | HP Notebooks | @HPSupport

OR

Find product and serial numbers for HP PCs, printers, and accessories

For now, assuming the pen is "all good"...

If the pen is compatible, then even without knowing what the buttons do, the pen should work.

OK - I checked your system's Maintenance and Service Guide

Unfortunately,

There are no compatible pens listed for this series.

It follows that the MPP 1.51 pen is not compatible.

Passive Pen Options for Touch Screen

If you wish to do so,

If your computer has a touchscreen,

When an active stylus is not an option on your machine,

Consider a Passive Stylus / Pen

Capacitive / Passive pen is not the same thing as an active stylus, of course.

Passive pen works like your finger on the touchscreen.

I was afraid the solution was heading towards ''incompatibility". Fortunately the touch screen is more of an extra for me. Thanks for your time and effort. At least I learned some new things.

You are welcome.

Unfortunately, sometimes the answer is No.

If you think it worth pursuing, check whether one of the small "artists" monitors would work.

The ones I've looked at on Amazon (I'm not a purist) look nice and come with a pen.

I've not yet purchased one so I don't have any actual recommendations - they are an intriguing idea.
