Hello
I just owned a new notebook, as I mentioned before, HP Envy 15 k201ns. I want to upgrade the RAM, HDD, and the CPU.
The CPU is Intel® Core™ i7-5500U and supports 16 GB of RAM. Which CPU could I buy to replace it? And which is the best RAM to replace?
I have one more question: where could I find an SSD to replace the curent HDD.
By the way, where could I find a tutorial to open the notebook and make the upgrades?

HERE IS A MANUAL for that model. There is ANOTHER MANUAL, Not really a tutorial in either one but it does show how to get inside for the various components.
The Intel® Core™ i7-5500U seems to be the best CPU listed for that. Anything faster or newer probably is not accepted.
It should not be difficult to find a SSD to fit in that as they make them to use the same connectors, just do some research on the one that will fit in that location.
There are two listed as optional in the manual
As far as memory or the SSD - visit the Crucial site, if you use the Crucial Advisor tool, then the upgrades are guaranteed.
Sorry @Huffer, I spent too time on research, did not see your post until mine came up.

Here is the Service manual:
The CPU is soldered to the motherboard and you already have the best motherboard that will fit in the chassis. i7-5500 with the 4 gig Geforce 850M video chip.
This is the specified part number for 8 gig memory modules:
8 GB 693374-005
See page 63 of the Manual for instructions on access to the hard drive bay for upgrade to an SSD and page 69 for mSATA SSD and page 71 for memory. The latter 2 upgrades require removal of the motherboard and even access to the hard drive bay is unusually difficult. This is not a simple DIY project but requires some technical skills I am afraid.
If you want to install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD I recommend the Samsung Evo 850:
To find a specific site for purchase I would need to know where you live (country).
Post back with any more questions.
