For the last month or so I've noticed the screen on my Omen doesn't close correctly, and after consulting a few people it's clear that the battery is swollen. I understand that this is a dangerous situation and I'm wondering how to fix it? My warrenty expired quite some time ago.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

I have the same problem.  Purchased an Omen laptop in July of 2017, but for the past year-plus I have noticed it not closing completely and now it is not sitting flat on the desk and there is now a gap over one corner of the mouse pad area.  Please help!  I use this laptop exclusively, but now I'm worried about the dangers it might pose, in addition to downtime.
