My laptop opened up on the side and front, and after looking at the community board, I found (as expected) a severely swollen battery. I am now looking for a replacement battery. Type YB06XL, HP part number 928427-271 on the battery (partsurfer.hp.com says 928372.856), 11.55V, 84.08Wh.
My questions:
- Is there a place where genuine parts (OEM) can be bought?
- If I buy a non-branded replacement, will there be a warning each time I start up the computer? (some entries suggested that). And if so, can that be disabled?
Thanks

Hi @kws13,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

Hi @Praveenbv,
Sorry, I can't workout how to either tag you properly or send a private message to you. I have had the same issue with an out of warranty product and am based in the UK. HP Support in the UK has largely been useless so far, so any additional advice you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gavin
