System Performance Imrovement

I want to improve my Ram and HardDisk,so please let me know i'm doing it right or not?

Installing 

1.Samsung Evo 860 250gb 2.5" to replace stock HHD.

2.Ram Any-8 GB memory module PC3L 12800 1600Mhz SHARED 693374-001  + old 4GB on other available slot.

3.using old HHD as Secondary Storage using 9.5mm Universal 2nd Hard Drive Bay Caddy For CD/DVD-ROM.

You have pretty much figured it out. I might suggest just adding a 4 gig memory module not 8 to keep it dual channel. 8 gigs in dual channel will often perform just as well as 12 gigs in single channel, which you will have if you mix an 8 and a 4. Also open the laptop first and see if your existing memory is single or dual rank configuration i.e. low or high density chips and match what you already have.

the thing i know about my ram is , it is 4gig ddr3 single channel.how to identify low or high density and can i add ddr4 for better performance?

The module is not a single channel module it is running in single channel mode because there is only one of them. If you had 2 identical or nearly identical modules it could be running dual channel. High or low density is determined by looking at the module. If it has 4 black blocks on the side it is high density; if it has 8 it is low. DDR4 modules have a different shape to them and will not fit in your memory slots.
