Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version: 18363.815

 

No hardware changes have been made to the laptop.

 

Each time the laptop is turned on the following message appears: 

 

System Settings Change

 

Your hardware settings have changed, Please reboot your computer for these changes to take effect,

 

Under the device manager, 

Other Devices

 

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

 

Have tried:

1. update the driver: unable to find a driver for the device

 

2. uninstall and reinstall device: getting same message on boot up

 

3. under the detail tab of the device properties window there is a value of:  ACPI\ASD0001\2&DABA3FF&1

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

 

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed. 

 

While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time. 


Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

 

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Thank you for your response to my question.

 

My laptop has a D drive which is a recovery partition. 

1. Should I us it to do a system factory reset?

 

2. If I use this recovery partition what is the correct procedure to use it?

The system recovery partition will be stored on main drive (D)
