Your laptop came to market between 2017-2018.
Your description of the battery issue and the age of the battery would lead me to the conclusion that your battery is quickly reaching the end of its service life.
The battery needs to be replaced with a new original HP battery.
From the Maintenance & Service guide (Ch 3, page 20, Item 20)
https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05485573.pdf
the replacement battery description and HP part number are:
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919701-850
3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919700-850
Both HP Part numbered batteries are compatible with your laptop. Best results are with an original (OEM) HP battery.
Beware of fake batteries. They may not work as expected.
