I too have had this blue screen with a horrible sound! Me and my husband both went to Best Buy and bought the same computer (2) HP beats audio, AMD A8. We bought it because the 1TB was so enticing. But we BOTH get this blue screen from the very 1st day. It seems to be when we are watching any videos via youtube, or when he is listening to music via DJ software. Its horrible! I am going to try some of the suggestions and I will report feedback soon. Wish me luck lol.

I got a fan (sits under the computer) for my laptop and just got a system thread exception not handled atikmdag.sys
soits not the cooling fan problem.
I got the fan becasue the laptop fan was going mad - very noisy - and I also had to update the bios (HP
told me to because there was some issue with the fan controller or settings on the laptop ( I assume)
Anyway - the cooling problem isnt the issue.
I dont think much of having to buy a cooling platform by the way - I bought this machine expecting it
to work properly. Also - I am concerned that HP seem to be guessing at the system thread exception problem - it is something serious -
Ive seen comments fr example on the following web page:
http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/336910-bsod-random-situations-caused-atikmdag-sys.html
which indicate that Realtek Gigabit Ethernet driver and ATI driver both need to be unistalled and replaced
I havent tried all this. Hopefully HP will come up with something organised....

So I updated adobe and firefox browser and this crappy laptop keeps on crashing like crazy!!
So we'll have to deactivate hardware accelerators till the endof the world?
I wouldn't recommend this **bleep**ty thing to satan himself.
HP so disappointed this is my third HP laptop and it'll be the last for a long time to come!!

I have been experiencing the same blue kill screen and downloading the CC Cleaner has just amplified the problem. Before it would happen 2 or 3 times a day now it is happening every 60 seconds or so!! CC cleaner is not the solution to this problem. I have tried resetting my computer to an earlier configuration without any success of eradicating the problem.
Has anyone out there ACTUALLY managed to solve this particular problem? At this stage I'm looking for proven advice not conjecture.
Many thanks
