@MGLAS, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're experiencing issues with the touchscreen on your HP Pavilion x360 and the touchscreen option does not appear in Device Manager, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Confirm Touchscreen Availability

  1. Check Product Specifications: Verify that your HP Pavilion x360 is equipped with a touchscreen by checking the product specifications on the HP Customer Support website.
  2. Screen Branding: Look for branding such as "Touch" or "TouchSmart" on the computer or its packaging to confirm it has a touchscreen.

Enable and Reinstall the Touchscreen Driver

  1. Open Device Manager: In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Human Interface Devices: If available, right-click on the HID-compliant touch screen and select "Enable." If "Enable" is unavailable, try reinstalling the driver.
  3. Restart the Computer: If uninstalling, restart the computer to automatically reinstall the driver.

If the option for a HID-compliant touch screen does not appear, it may indicate a hardware issue, or that the device does not have touchscreen capabilities.

HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • HP PC Hardware Diagnostics: Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to run tests.
    • Turn off the computer and disconnect the AC adapter.
    • Turn on the computer and press esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears, then press f2.
    • Select "Component Tests" and then "Touch Screen" to perform diagnostic tests.

Windows Updates

  • Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows system is up to date. Go to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Hard Reset

If none of the previous steps work, performing a hard reset might help:

  • For Non-removable Batteries:
    • Turn off the computer and disconnect the AC adapter and any peripheral devices.
    • Press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the AC adapter and power on the computer.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
