I'd very much appreciate feedback on using this model in England. Is an adapter the only thing needed? A converter? Plug right in?
Any and all responses warmly received.
Thanks,
Dan

You're very welcome, Dan.
I don't know how the forum assigns icons. I guess it is random.
You can change the icon by going to the My Settings menu on your personal home page...top right drop down menu next to your user name.
Unfortunately, I don't know how that works...whether the wire is rated for 110V or 220V, or it doesn't matter, and you just buy an adapter to plug in the end.
You can buy the right cord from this site at the link below.
I didn't see any on eBay (surprisingly...I thought there would be a ton of them for sale).

Hi, Dan:
The only thing you would need to change would be the cord that goes from the wall socket to the power adapter.
Maybe you can order that cord now...
See chapter 3, page 20 of the service manual for the correct power cord/part number.
For use in the United Kingdom and Singapore HP Part # 490371-031

eBay would probably be your best and cheapest option.

Paul,
First, thanks so much for that blisteringly fast reply. Also, I've no idea why HP made my icon a little girl, and while I'm cute, I ain't that cute.
So, I looked at the link you sent, and the cable (thanks again), and it seems this is simply a basic power cord with an adapter built in at the other end. Is this correct? As, if so, that'd mean there's no converter inside it, in which case, couldn't I just use one of the adapters we have? If not, please correct me.
Thanks,
Dan
