HP Probook 6560b
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The question is pretty easy. What is the best/most powerfull CPU I can put in my Probook 6560b instead of my i5-2410M?

@PeterTilke

Welcome to HP Support Forum. Please check page 1 of the following manual

Page 60 gives you a list of part numbers and how to replace CPU.

Regards.

Thank you for your quick response.

So according to this manual, the best compatible CPU is i7-2720QM.

Is there any reason I could not put in i7-2860QM? The only difference I can see are the clocks and cache size.

Good day!

I'm going to upgrade the processor from the HP6560b laptop. Tell me which one you installed yourself or which one is the best possible?

I am currently running on i7-2860QM which works flawlessly. Anyway I am thinking about upgrading to Ivy Bridge next year (i7-3840QM) but have no idea how it is going to work. I'd like to use its graphics HD 4000 which should be much better than the current discrete ATI HD 6470M but I haven't found any solution to disable the discrete graphics and use the integrated one yet 😞
