Hi!
I just had my laptop about 7 months ago and for the past months, I've been charging it while it's on sleep. It's usually done charging after 2 hours or so but recently, for some reason, the charging time while on sleep or on slowed down. However, if it's charging while it's off, the charging time returns to normal (2 hours).
I've already check the battery health of my laptop in HP Support Assistant, but it says it's normal.
I was worried about this sudden change so please enlighten me as to what happened and what to do. Thank you.

Hi@shyyy, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Don't worry that battery charging till 60% will quickly get charged after that it takes time,
HP doesn't recommend charging notebooks when shut down and sleep mode changing will be slow
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi!
You said that charging my notebook when shutdown is not recommended right? But why does my laptop charge a lot faster when shutdown compared to when it's on sleep mode or on? The sudden change got me so worried since charging my laptop usually just take 2 hours regardless if it's on, in sleep mode, or shutdown. Is this something worth worrying for or will it return to normal after some time?
I hope you could also tell me why does this happened.

Hi@shyyy,
Notebooks are designed for the power-saving( energy Star) mode.
Technically speaking some components that use battery power are a bit slow while using. As informed it's not recommended to connect the charger when it's shut down.
Putting to sleep connecting charge is fine.
Note:- (max 1 hr long run battery life might be affected.)
