HP Laptop 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently, the last two rows of my keyboard have stopped working. Sometimes I can get B or C to work but not a majority of the time. I need this laptop for school. Any ideas?

Have you got another keyboard you can try in one of the USB slots? How old is the laptop as this could be spillage/dust etc. in the keyboard especially if a USB one works correctly. Would not recommend trying to clean the contacts yourself.

I have tried all of the above. The laptop was bought brand new last year.

Most strange, especially if a USB keyboard has the exactly the same buttons not working. Does it?

I tried using a separate keyboard and I’m not a fan of it. Especially since I use my laptop on the go. I just want to fix and use the keyboard my laptop has.

Ok so a plugged in USB keyboard works correctly. Your problem is definitely dirty contacts. Not a job you can do yourself and probably not covered by your warranty unless you have extended cover of some type. It needs stripping down and cleaning with, maybe, the keyboard under lay replacing. Do not attempt this yourself as it will definitely null and void and warranties.

I have already taken it to get professionally cleaned twice. Still no luck. Nothing was spilled on it either.

As said if a USB keyboard works the problem is the physical built in keyboard and not software. Keyboards are not easily cleaned and need the total dismantling of the laptop to get to them. If you are certain nothing spilt you should be able to get a warranty repair. If the repairer who 'cleaned' it did not strip it down then it was not cleaned.

They did exactly that, my warranty expired in October as is.

If you can advise the full model details, not the serial number on a forum, i can ask my contacts in the refurbishment industry as to the design of your particular keyboard though it sounds like the underlying matrix is faulty and needs replacing. Experienced workshop job. Will not be able to get any information until after 4th January. Your best chance of getting it back working is warranty though don't forget to do a full back up of all relevant data and files before sending it away..
